At a glance

BlinkPop puts people in the same room. These are the rules that keep that safe, and what happens when someone breaks them.

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • No spam, harassment, hate, or fakes. Nothing sexual, violent, unsafe or illegal either.
  • See something wrong? Report it. Tap ··· on a profile, a Pop or a post, or press and hold a message. Your report is private.
  • A person reviews every report. Nothing is hidden from other people automatically.
  • You can block anyone.Neither of you sees the other’s profile, Pops or posts, and you can undo it.

This summary is here to be readable, not to replace the full text below. Where the two differ, the full text governs.

Who BlinkPop is for

You must be 18 or over to use BlinkPop. It brings people who may not know each other together in real life, and that is not a product for minors. If you think someone under 18 is using it, report their profile or email us.

What is not allowed

These apply to your profile, your Pops, your posts and your chats.

BlinkPop refuses to save a Pop, a post, a profile or a message that contains certain words: hate slurs, explicit sexual terms, and terms for sexual content involving children. You are told at once and nothing is posted. It is a word list, and it does not replace reporting.

The Terms of Service carry the full rules.

How to report

You can report a person, a Pop, a post or a message.

To report a message, press and hold it, then choose Report message. To act on that report, BlinkPop staff see the message you reported.

You can also email jinxuetan@gmail.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Reports are private

A report goes to BlinkPop and to no one else. The person you report is never told who reported them. That holds when we remove their Pop, post or message, and when we suspend their account.

What happens after a report

A person at BlinkPop reads every report, within 24 hours. Nothing is hidden from other people automatically: a report by itself changes nothing for anyone else, however many there are. We look at what was reported, check it against these guidelines, and then decide.

What happens then:

If we removed something of yours or suspended you and you think we got it wrong, email us and we will look at it again.

Blocking

You can block any person. Tap ··· on their profile, then Block, or press and hold one of their messages. It takes effect at once, and they are not told.

Blocking does not tell us anything. If someone broke these guidelines, report them as well, so we can act.

Hiding a Pop or a post

Hide, in the ··· menu of a Pop or a post, removes it from your own lists and map at once. Hiding tells us nothing and does not affect anyone else. Reporting a Pop or a post also hides it for you.
