At a glance

A real person reads this inbox: hello@blinkpop.app

  • Reporting someone — within 24 hours, and faster if someone is at risk.
  • Everything else — within 2 business days.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. We cannot help with an emergency in progress.

This summary is here to be readable, not to replace the full text below. Where the two differ, the full text governs.

Report a user, a Pop, or a post

The fastest route is in the app, because it tells us exactly what you are reporting. Look for the ··· button:

Reporting an individual message is not yet possible in the app. If someone sent you something that breaks the rules, report their profile using the steps above and email us with a screenshot so we know what to look for. We are building proper message reporting.

You can report anything by emailing hello@blinkpop.app. Include the username involved and, if you can, a screenshot.

What happens next. We review every report within 24 hours. BlinkPop has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: we remove content that breaks the Terms of Serviceand the accounts that posted it, and we ban repeat and serious offenders. Content involving the sexualisation of minors or credible threats of violence is reported to the authorities. We will not tell you what action we took against another person’s account, but we will confirm that we acted.

Block someone

Open their profile, tap ···, and choose Block. It takes effect immediately: they can no longer see your profile or your Pops, or contact you. You can also block from the ··· menu inside a direct message.

Blocking is not the same as reporting, and it does not tell us anything. If someone broke the rules, report them as well so we can act on it.

To unblock someone, email us. There is no unblock screen in the app yet, so blocking is currently a one-way action from your side — we will reverse it for you on request, and we are building the screen.

Delete your account

In the app: Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. It is permanent and cannot be undone.

This removes your profile, the Pops you created, your messages, posts, follows and check-in history. Reports other people filed about you are kept as a moderation record. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

If you cannot get into your account to delete it, email us from the address you signed up with and we will do it for you.

Get a copy of your data, or correct it

Most of it you can edit yourself on your profile. For a full copy of your data, or to correct something you cannot edit, email hello@blinkpop.appfrom your account’s email address. We respond within 30 days, free of charge.

Common problems

The map is empty

BlinkPop is new and seeded city by city, starting in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. An empty map usually means nothing is happening near you yet rather than that something is broken. Creating a Pop is the fastest way to change that.

Location is not working

BlinkPop needs “While Using the App” location permission. Check iOS Settings → BlinkPop → Location, or Android Settings → Apps → BlinkPop → Permissions. BlinkPop never uses your location in the background.

I am not getting notifications

Check that notifications are allowed for BlinkPop in your device settings, then check the toggles in Settings inside the app. Nearby Pop notifications need both.

I cannot check in at a place

Checking in requires being within about 150 metres of the place. This is deliberate — it is what makes “here now” mean something.

Security issues

If you have found a vulnerability, email hello@blinkpop.appwith “Security” in the subject line. Please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We are grateful for these and we will credit you if you would like.
